I have already Swatched L’Oreal Pure Reds Collection Star range and have reviewed 2 of my favorite shades Pure Amaranthe Pure Scarleto individually. Today I will be sharing my thoughts over Pure Red & Pure Garnet more shades from the same line.
Shades – L’Oreal Pure Rouge is a cool toned red which look bit similar to Ruby Woo, however there is something distinct that separates them from one another. Pure Garnet is a deep wine shade. Both the shades would suit all skintones. I was excited particularly about Pure Garnet.
Texture & Formula – Pure Rouge has a velvet smooth formula that glides on smoothly whether lips were moisturized beforehand or not, however that’s not the case with Pure Garnet, Formula is slightly dry and tugs while you apply. Once set none of them feel drying until I eat or drink anything.
Initial finish is velvet matte which turns into absolute matte after an hour or so. Best part of the formula is that it doesn’t bleed or move out of lip lines. Texture is quite comfortable for being a matte lipstick though after 1-2 hours I need a lip balm to prevent my lips from looking dehydrated and cracked.
Pigmentation – Pure Rouge is very pigmented, 2 swipes are enough to have an even distribution of color on lips. Pure Garnet is equally pigmented but needs some work to get even color.
Staying Power – Both of the shades stay on for good 5-6 hours and leave stain once the formula wears off which stays for another 1-2 hours.
L’Oreal Pure Rouge & Pure Garnet Lipstick (Rs 995 each)
I really like the texture and formula of L’Oreal Pure Rouge. Pure Garnet is a beautiful deep wine-red color which is perfect for the current weather. All the shades from L’Oreal Collection Star range have amazing staying power. For girls with dry lips like me applying a lip balm before lipsticks is always recommended.
