L.A. Girl Timeless Flat Matte Finish Lipstick comes in a sturdy cylindrical packaging with a matte black screw cap. The packaging is nothing fancy but is sturdy enough to be carried around. The applicator is a regular doe-foot applicator and packs the right amount of product while applying.
Shade- Timeless is a dull purple shade with a lot of pink in it making it wearable on an everyday basis. The shade is not too bold and is work friendly as well. It is suited for fair to medium complexion but the flat cool purple tones can wash out dusky beauties.
Texture- It applies creamy allowing you to apply properly. It sets in about half a minute and dries completely matte. Once it sets there is no budging, smudging or correcting! However while removing it, I have found that the crème basically solidifies thus leaving patches, and getting crumbled while coming off (refer photos).
Pigmentation & Finish – It is dangerously pigmented and I suggest you start applying with less amount of lipstick and then build up slowly. But you cannot afford too much time in applying as the setting time is very quick. So you will have to be a pro here while applying. L.A. Girl Timeless Flat Matte Finish Lipstick is absolutely powder matte thus it calls for well exfoliated lips. Also dry lipped people may face a bit of tightening after some time so I recommend layering with a clear balm first and then wiping it off and then applying the lip crème.
Staying Power – It can stay in the rain, stay while you kiss, stay while you eat, or even chat like a parrot! Yes it is that long lasting! So let us not worry about the staying power at all and quit thinking on this end. But, removing this colour from the lip is such a pain. And for this reason I dread to apply this on my lips. It is absolutely water-based remover proof and you will have to remove with a crème based remover. It requires a lot of effort before it finally leaves the lips.
L.A. Girl Flat Matte Finish Lipstick in Timeless (Price 6$ for 6ml)
L.A. Girl Timeless Flat Matte Finish Lipstick works as a break from regular peaches, pinks and reds by being a pinkish purple sans the boldness. The colour is actually quite dull which may or may not be to your liking. I have a mixed feeling about this and some days I like it, other days I don’t. I will try out another colour from this range and if I still find it dull then maybe the extremely matte texture kills the colour thus dehydrating the look. I don’t quite recommend this lipstick due to its extreme texture. I’d rather go for forgiving lip creams like that of NYX.
