Being a beauty enthusiast it happens that I get sucked into the hype created for a particular product and buy it despite of not wanting it. Similar thing happened with Huda Beauty Faux Filter Foundation. I was skeptical for two reasons – firstly the full coverage formula which I am not a big fan of and secondly the price which is quite up there. However after watching numerous rave reviews I gave in and picked it in shade brown sugar which is suitable for NC42 in MAC.
#FauxFilter is a full-coverage velvety foundation, available in 30 delicious shades, that will give you a flawless long-lasting look in just one application. Hiding blemishes, concealing imperfections, and camouflaging dark circles, this amazing formula is packed with ultra-refined pigments that make uneven skin a thing of the past.
Shade – To make our lives easy Huda Beauty has done a great job at comparing and listing down matching shades in other foundations (brands). So if you are buying it online, it is no longer a game of hit & miss. I picked brown sugar which is suitable for girls who wear NC42 in MAC. It matches me perfectly. The foundation has golden yellow undertones and it doesn’t clash with the warmth of my skin. There are 30 shades to choose from which is phenomenal.
Texture & Formula – As the brand claims, Huda Beauty Faux Filter Foundation is thick and full coverage foundation. It is meant to blur out imperfections and texture of the skin to give a smooth filtered look. I don’t have much issues with my skin and the foundation looks gorgeous.
The formula is thick and I don’t need more than a pump of it. Infact I mix it with moisturiser to tone down the coverage since I don’t prefer wearing a thick full coverage foundation on daily basis. Also it doesn’t have SPF so there is no chance of getting flash backs in flash photography. Making it a good bridal foundation as well.
I wouldn’t call it a heavy foundation despite of being full coverage. I can feel it on the skin but there is nothing too uncomfortable or suffocating. Like I said earlier since the weather has turned quite hot in Delhi, I prefer mixing it with my moisturiser to get a nice sheer coverage for daytime events.
Staying Power – Huda Beauty Faux Filter Foundation stays on for good 9+ hours. It is a thick formula so I do see a little creasing around my mouth, specially on the upper lip area. But that isn’t something a little powder can’t tackle.
