I am an ardent fan of The Body Shop skincare range. Their body butters and body mists have been my long time favourite. The brand has also a line of makeup and they have launched Jacqueline 2.0 that has Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation , eyeshadow crayons, lash hero fibre extension mascara and shine lip liquid. I have got The Body Shop Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation and been using it for couple of weeks now.
Combat skin imperfections throughout the day with our NEW 100% vegan Matte Clay Foundation. This lightweight foundation is enriched with skin-clearing tea tree and leaves a breathable, yet full-coverage matte finish. It’s also resistant to water and sweat. Apply with our multi-tasking complexion blender for a flawless application.
Now a little about my skin type. I have dry skin which becomes extremely dry during winters. The word ‘matte’ in the name made me doubt the efficacy of this foundation on me as I lean towards illuminating formulas.
Packaging is simple. The Body Shop Matte Clay Foundation comes in a tube with narrow nozzle. I like the packaging its convenient, travel friendly and practical.
Shade – I picked Nutmeg, which is the second darkest shade in the range. In total there are 7 shades. The shade nutmeg would suits NC42-44 , infact its a perfect shade for me 🙂 The color has yellow undertones and it looks absolutely perfect on me !
Texture & Formula – The foundation is a medium-full coverage formula. Texture is thick but not cakey on the skin. To prevent it from looking putty like on my face, I apply Palmer’s Skin Therapy Oil Face on my skin and then put a layer of this foundation using a damp YBP Cosmetic Perfector. This is my favourite way of applying this foundation and results are amazing !
With oil underneath the finish is luminous ! Formula is thick but blends quickly and doesn’t look heavy. However due to the thick consistency it does crease a little around my mouth, specially in smile lines. But that can be taken care of with the help of a loose setting powder.
Due to the presence of Tea Tree oil it will work for acne prone skin as well. We all know the skincare benefits of tea tree oil and how it combats acne & pimples. As per the brand The Body Shop Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation is suitable for all skin types.
Coverage – Like i said the foundation offers medium to full coverage. I don’t have blemishes or spots on my skin at the moment but it definitely evens out my complexion without looking too made up.
Staying Power – Good 7+ hours
The Body Shop Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation is priced at Rs 1195 for 35 ml, available
I am really in love with this foundation for couple of reasons. Firstly the shade is a perfect match, secondly the formula works amazingly well when combined with oil (for my dry skin). And lastly the finish is beautiful ! The Body Shop Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation is great for weddings and parties because it is full coverage and doesn’t cause flash backs in photos.
